The founder of Global Hotel Card by Expedia will share his experience marketing gift cards Globally to incentive programs.
After graduating from the University of California he lived in Japan and Hong Kong for three years as a Metals and Minerals Trader. From there Friend began a career in Hospitality and Real Estate and purchased his first hotel at age 30 in Tucson Arizona. He has owned and operated several hotels during the late 80’s and 90’s including franchise properties from Radisson Hotels, Starwood Hotels, Best Western, and Holiday Inn.
In 2005, Friend launched the first Gift Card in the incentive and loyalty industry under an exclusive license with Travelocity.com. Since that time his company has sold over 500,000 gift cards B2B and B2C and has expanded aggressively to Global Markets with Gift Cards in 30 currencies under the Expedia group Brand.
